Client Testimonial
“Amy was organized, responsive, and easy to work with from start to finish. She took the time to understand our business and consistently brought us candidates who matched what we were trying to accomplish.”
Challenge:
A commercial security provider needed an Outside Sales Representative to sell gates, fencing, access control panels, and related security solutions throughout Southern and rural Colorado.
Colorado Springs has a significant concentration of military installations, government facilities, and defense contractors, making physical security and access control an important part of the local business landscape.
The territory added another layer of complexity. It extended well beyond Colorado Springs into smaller communities across rural Colorado. The right candidate needed to be comfortable managing a large geographic territory, prospecting consistently, and building relationships with small and medium-sized businesses throughout the region.
Solution:
One of the biggest differentiators in the search came down to the sales model. The industry is split between companies that focus on large, one-time construction projects and those that build recurring revenue through service, maintenance, inspections, and ongoing customer relationships.
The client was open to candidates from either background, but they had a clear vision for what success looked like in each. We evaluated candidates beyond industry experience, focusing on how they developed business, managed customer relationships, and created long-term value.
Our recruiting targeted candidates from commercial fencing, automated gates, access control, security systems, overhead doors, commercial construction, electrical services, fire protection, building products, and other industries serving business owners, contractors, and facility managers.
Throughout the interview process, we prioritized candidates with experience developing new business, managing large territories, and balancing customers across both metropolitan and rural markets.
Outcome
- ▸ We interviewed 24 candidates
- ▸ Presented eight finalists, each with different industry experience and compensation requirements
- ▸ The client hired a strong long-term fit
