A new client needed Business Development Representatives to build relationships with high-net-worth individuals through consistent, in-person networking.
They were attracting highly intelligent and financially savvy candidates, but that wasn’t the issue. The role required gravitas, charm, and the ability to build trust quickly in social and professional settings. It also came with access to events and tickets, as well as an expense account, which required a level of maturity and judgment the client could rely on.
Many candidates who looked strong on paper lacked the presence and interpersonal confidence needed to operate in those environments.
Solution:
The search focused on identifying candidates with real exposure to high-trust, relationship-driven environments.
We targeted backgrounds where candidates were already interacting with high-net-worth individuals in person. That included private banking, wealth management support roles, luxury real estate, tech consulting, and high-end hospitality.
Conversations centered on how candidates built relationships in social settings, carried themselves in client-facing situations, and maintained trust over time. This made it clear who had natural presence and who relied more on technical knowledge.
The process stayed disciplined around those traits. Candidates without that level of maturity and interpersonal strength were removed early.
